Irvin Latta moved to Chillicothe in 1977, and since that time, submerged himself in community service, politics and business.

Along with investors, Irvin developed and built two shopping centers and breathed new life into a large, empty building in Chillicothe's Route 29 business district. He received his real estate agent's license in 2005, with his broker's license following in 2006. He continues to own and operate a video wholesale, retail and liquidation business with his wife, Mary, since 1992.

Chillicothe voters elected Irvin for two terms as mayor of the city from 1985 to 1993, and he continued with public service as the city treasurer from 1997 to 2002. He garnered the city's highest award, the Civic Achievement Award in 2002 for his continued support of the city's business community and service to the city.

His business and political skills are as diverse as his community service. From serving as president of Chillicothe Summer Youth Activities when the new baseball diamonds were built to aiding Chillicothe Township United Way campaigns as chairman for two years, Irvin continues to help all sectors of the public. As a past president and charter member of the Chillicothe Optimist Club, Irvin continues to serve the youth of the community through the club.
